Raine Electric Scooters Kickstarter - FAQ

Raine Kickstarter FAQ

When is the Kickstarter launching?

The Raine Kickstarter will be launching this November 11th or 12th 2019 depending on where you live. Check out the local times below:

How long will the campaign go for?

Our Kickstarter campaign will run for 30 days and will conclude on December 11th, 2019.

What is your funding goal?

Our Kickstarter goal is $50,000 USD. With your support we hope to exceed this!

How do I get one? Are there payment plans available?

Backing a project on Kickstarter is super easy:

  1. Visit our Kickstarter page (if you’ve signed up on our website, we’ll send you an email with the link to the Kickstarter page as soon as it goes live!) - also keep an eye out on our social pages to get updates (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
  2. Click ‘Back this project’
  3. Choose your package and enter payment details - it’s as easy as that!

Don’t forget! Although our Kickstarter campaign will go for 30 days, there will be a limited number of scooters available, so make sure you get in quick to secure the best deal.

The Kickstarter platform does not support payment plans or Afterpay, so Kickstarter handles payments (at the end of the project deadline) from your backing.

When I back your Kickstarter, when is my payment method charged?

If we hit our goal on Kickstarter, your card will be charged once the Kickstarter 30 day funding deadline is reached. More details here.

Will I be able to back out of my pledge?

If you do back our project on Kickstarter but then change your mind, you may cancel the pledge while the period is live. More details here.

    When is expected delivery?

We’re planning for a May 2020 delivery. If there are delays (which we’re actively avoiding), we will endeavor to communicate these to you as promptly as possible.

What are the risks of backing on Kickstarter? How are you minimizing these risks?

All Kickstarter campaigns have associated risks. These may include companies not delivering their products and production delays. As we’ve already established our supply chain channels and the production processes have begun, we plan to minimize any risk.

In order to manage delays, we’ve set up a generous timeline (see here) that preempts many production delays (e.g. Chinese New Year). If we do run into unexpected delays, we’ll endeavor to minimize its impact on our delivery date and we’ll be sure to communicate this to our backers.

It says free shipping, but do you ship to my country?

We’ll be offering free international shipping, so if you have a home or work address, or a post office near you, we should be able to get a Raine scooter to you.

What if I change address after I back your campaign?

If you change your address or want to change your shipping details after you back our Kickstarter - you can. We’ll be contacting all our backers again prior to shipping to ensure we have your updated address.

Why did you choose to launch your product on Kickstarter?

There were a number of reasons why we chose to launch the Raine One electric scooter on Kickstarter - the main one being that we wanted to use this opportunity to bring the Raine One to as many people as possible, get great feedback, and deliver to you at a reduced price. Our CEO and co-founder Marc Alexander, has written a detailed blog post on why he chose to launch the Raine One and his previous products through the crowdfunding platform. You can read it here.
